Manningham Hearing Clinic

We want to improve your quality of life

In Australia, 1 in 10 people suffer from hearing loss. It is recommended that you have a hearing assessment every 2 years. This becomes more important over the age of 45 years. If you are a pensioner or DVA recipient then this service may be free to you.

Your Assessment

We will perform a comprehensive hearing test which will be followed by an in-depth discussion about the options for your hearing.

We fit hearing aids on a trial basis. This trial period includes return follow up visits, during which, we will check that the hearing aid is working at its optimal level based on your experiences and comments as well as proven objective measures.

What about hearing aids?

Hearing aids have improved immensely in recent years with the continued development of digital technology. Hearing aids will help to improve your hearing ability but no hearing aid will provide completely normal hearing again.

Hearing aids vary considerably in price because of the different levels of technology involved. All hearing aids are digital now-a-days, however hearing aids with more advanced digital signal processing are more expensive than their more basic counterparts. These aids are much easier to use, with less skill required as they automatically respond to changes in the sound environment during the day.

Technology has improved the management of hearing loss in recent years. Advanced developments by hearing aid manufacturers have now removed “occlusion”  which is the blocked up feeling people used to experience when wearing hearing aids. Similarly, the annoying whistling or feedback sound that hearing aids used to make is now a problem of the past.

Hearing aids vary in size and type as you can see below. There are different hearing aids to suit different needs.

Our philosophy

We feel that the most expensive hearing aid is not  always the best choice for your hearing loss. It depends on your lifestyle and listening requirements. We are here to help you choose the most appropriate solution for your individual listening needs.
